Science & Bible
Science is the branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts, systematically arranged & showing the operation of general laws. The word science is derived from the Latin word "scientia" which means knowledge. Let us now look into the bible;
1. The bible states the earth is a circle, & technically very few translations say that the earth is a sphere. The difference is that a circle is a flat object while a sphere is 3-dimentional. The importance of this is for centuries it was taught that the earth was a square flat object in which if a man sailed to the end of the earth he would fall off. Isaiah 40:22
2. International letters found at Tel el-Amarna, Egypt in 1887, 300 clay tablets written around 1500 B.C. while Israel was still dwelling with the Pharos.
3. Moabite stone, 1868 found that corroborates the story of 2 Kings 3.
4. Tel el-Amarna tablets show parts of the history of Abraham. His birthplace, sojourn in Egypt, battle with kings, & meeting Melchizedek. Genesis 11-14
5. The deluge was written on Sumerian tablets 2150 B.C. Columbia Univ. marine geologist (1996) state there's evidence that 7,600 years ago there was (or may have been) a catastrophic flood. British army officer George Smith (1872) finds a tablet giving complete detail as recorded in Genesis 7-9. Hundreds of flood legends throughout cultures. Fossilized remains of marine life on every major mountain range. Eroded sedimentary rocks found allover the earth.
6. Evidence of the fiery destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah & remains that there was once a city.
7. Wind-set-down (theory) 30ft in Gulf of Agaba, giving scientific explanation for the exodus of Israel. Exodus 14:21
8. Dark matter as the unknown, invisible that that holds the universe together through gravity. Yet there is no proof yet that dark matter is more than theory. The importance is that the universe would fall apart if not for dark matter. So science has proven that there is something, invisible that is omnipresent that holds the universe together & keeps it functioning.
9. Science has found a way to sorta explain the plagues of Egypt as a chain reaction began off one plague. This would have to be imitated by God, then by nature one plague would lead to another. As this is true that the chain of events would happen, this is purely theory. It would be beyond amazing if this is how it happened due to the infinite knowledge of God knowing that one plague would lead to others. Some would consider this more miraculous then God sending separate plagues, because it proves His divine knowledge of science.
We could go on stating things in the bible & other legends that have been proven. The list is long but some of it is still theoretical speculation. These debates lead to the more important discussion of the existence of Jesus Christ. Some say he was a mushroom, others a modernized sun god based off pagan religions.
1. Josephus, (A.D. 93) mentioned Jesus 2x in his writings.
2. Mara bar Sarapion (Before 3rd century A.D.) wrote of Pilate, & the Jews murder of the "Wise King".
3. The Babylonian Talmud uses rare & possible references to Jesus.
4. Thallus (190 B.C.) wrote of Jesus crucifixion.
5. Lucian wrote about christians & their devotion & the "crucified sage".
6. Celsus wrote that Christ was a magician.
7. Proof of the acts & existence of Pilate.
That's it. There's no other proof or true solid evidence the man is more than a myth that we follow. Yet to model your life after His is the greatest joy, peace & success one can achieve in life. To know the truth is to be set free of bondage. Man denies his bondage & often calls it freedom. Yet this "freedom" only leads to greater bondage, in a circle of self made imprisonment. Why does man spend so much time defending that which destroys him, & not focus on that which can save him. Again rather Jesus is historical fact or modern myth, those who follow Him experience a fullness of life that outsiders can't understand. Taste & see that the Lord is good. Anyone who honestly tries out Jesus will find that there is no substitute. This divine truth is scientific not religious, as it is a formula for life based on facts & the operation of general laws.
Jesus taught us the science of living. Forgive others so that you may be forgiven, but also this gets rid of the baggage that we carry, which creates stress & ulcers that will literally kill us. Give & it shall be given, Oprah is the best example of this truth. Those who give find a mysterious force in the universe giving back to them. Love everyone, give to your neighbor, these also keep us from holding onto negative energies which form invisible demonic forces (or Incubus) in our lives. These parasites of hate, jealousy, anger, malice, deceit will feed off out life force until it totally drains us. We see how many people are having nervous breakdowns, or mental instabilities yet we ignore the simple instructions that prevent these problems. Faith in God produces results, to rely on our own ability means that we refuse any help that the universe wishes to provide us in achieving our goals. Honor the temple of God which is our physical body, how often do we simply slowly destroy our bodies by eating habits, drugs (medicinal, legal & illegal), drinking, smoking, lack of exercise, contaminations, our sex lives & many other acts which not only drain the life from the body but the spirit. Seek first the kingdom, lets us know that we are so insignificant & that we can't put our personal gain above everything in life. There is a higher calling & universal need for man to give back to the universe he lives in. Those who live only for personal gain often rob themselves again & again of experiencing true glory & spiritual riches. Sometimes even out greed robs us of physical riches, & we'd be better off financially (& often health wise) if we didn't listen to ourselves.
These facts & others taught in the bible are not religious, but a scientific method of gaining results. A formula will either work or not work, there is no inbetween. If you use the proper base elements the way the sages have taught us we will transmute the items into gold. This equivalence of form with the creator is said to be taught by almost all religions. Is this coincidence?
We will end this by stating what we did in the beginning; & by doing this we can easily see that there is a such thing as spiritual science & it is not religion. Religion is a man made practice while science is a set of divine laws that work.
